My Sony camcorder recorded some MXF footage for me, but these MXF file can not be played in Windows Media Player. Is there any easier solution to this?
Which MXF to Windows Media Player converter is the best one? I want to convert many MXF files to Windows Media Player supported video formats for playback in it. Thanks for your suggestion.
MXF is now often used by some Sony and Panasonic camcorders as one of their recording formats. MXF can be edited by many video editing programs, but MXF playback is not supported by many video players, such as Windows Media Player. The main reason for Windows Media Player not playing MXF is that Windows Media Player does not include the required codec for MXF. To easily fix the Windows Media Player not playing MXF, you had better convert the MXF to Windows Media Player supported video format, such as WMV.

For now, WMV, ASF, AVI, MPG, MPEG is well supported by any version of Windows Media Player. And MOV, MP4, 3GP, M4V, M2TS is only supported by the certain versions of Windows Media Player and among which, some formats even need the help of the required component or plug-in to be played in the supported Windows Media Player.
