SWF is an Adobe Flash file format for delivering multimedia, vector graphics and ActionScript. Adobe has developed Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Integrated Runtime and other plug-ins to enable SWF playback in various web browsers. So users can easily play SWF files on their Mac through a web browser, like Safari, Chrome, etc. But users can not directly play SWF file on a Mac without the web browser, as Mac default player, QuickTime, does not support SWF file natively. But there are workarounds available to help users to play SWF files on Mac. The following article just introduces two popular methods to directly play SWF files on Mac.
SWF is not natively supported by Mac default player, QuickTime, but we can download and install another SWF player to Mac to replace QuickTime to play the SWF file on Mac. But remember that you need to download the SWF player from one reliable website, as you may download some virus to your Mac from some unknown and unreliable websites.
This method is not widely used among users, because many users fear to download some virus along with the SWF player. And also SWF player can only help to play SWF file on Mac, but not other video formats unsupported by Mac QuickTime.
We only need to use a professional SWF converter to convert the SWF file to Mac QuickTime supported video formats, such as MOV or MP4, and then users can easily play any SWF file on Mac.
Follow the guide below to convert any SWF file to Mac supported MP4 or MOV
