I have recorded some XAVC files with my Sony camcorder and when I try to import the XAVC file to FCP X for editing, I failed. How can I easily fix this problem?
If you are also troubled by not editing XAVC in FCP problem, the following article will help you.
XAVC is a recording format developed for its certain camera models, including PMW-55, PMW-F5, etc. XAVC uses H.264/MPEG-4 AVC and can support 4K resolution video. The recorded XAVC is natively supported by many video editors, like Sony Vegas, Avid, DaVinci Resolve, EDIUS, etc, but not by all. For example, users will fail to edit the recorded XAVC on some Final Cut Pro X versions. Is there a method to fix that? Now the following article just shares a widely used solution.
Some users may say that the XAVC plugin PDZK-LT2 released by Sony can help users to edit the XAVC on the Final Cut Pro, but the XAVC plugin PDZK-LT2 has some limitations. For example, version 1.2 of XAVC plugin PDZK-LT2 requires Mac OS X 10.9 and works on Final Cut Pro 10.1 or later versions. 1.1 version of XAVC plugin PDZK-LT2 requires Mac OS X 10.8.3, 10.7.5, 10.6.8 and their later versions and works on Final Cut Pro 10.0.8. As you see, XAVC plugin PDZK-LT2 do not cover all Mac OS X systems and all Final Cut Pro versions. Want to more flexibly edit the XAVC codec on any FCP X or FCP?
