I have recorded some MTS files with my Sony camcorder and now I want to burn them to DVD for archive. I searched Google and learnt that MPEG-2 is the preferred format for burning to DVD. So now my question is how can I convert my MTS to MPEG-2? It will be more satisfying if the tool supports to batch convert MTS to MEPG-2.
MTS is one of the file extensions for AVCHD format. MTS is the file format commonly used by many digital camcorders, like Sony, Panasonic, etc. MTS is compressed by MPEG-4 standard that is different from MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 standards which both often share MPG as the file extension. As per Wikipedia, MPG is more used for Video CD, digital satellite TV, SVCD, DVD, etc. So if you have recorded some MTS files and want to use them on MPG compatible programs, the first step is to convert the MTS to MPG (MPEG-1 or MPEG-2). To avoid video quality loss during the MTS to MPG video conversion, a professional MTS to MPG converter is needed. Among all MTS to MPG converters, iDealshare VideoGo wins more positive feedback.
