FCP X supports to edit the video file recorded by a wide range of recording devices, among which Canon EOS 77D is one of the supported digital still cameras. But in practice things are different and lots of users encounter failure when importing Canon EOS 77D recorded MP4/MOV to FCP X for editing. See the following failure example:
Theoretically FCP X can import Canon EOS 77D recorded MP4/MOV in codecs MPEG4 AVC/H.264, but MPEG4 AVC/H.264 is not FCP X most supported video codecs and so in practice users will meet various incompatibility issue.
