As we know, Skyrim only supports audio in XWM format which is not compatible with most audio player or editor. Therefore, if we want to make a new menu music theme for Skyrim, we have to convert the music file whatever it is in WAV, MP3, FLAC, OGG, AC3 etc to XWM audio format. Conversely, if we want to play Skyrim music .xwm files on iPod, iTunes, Windows Media Player, Android, MP3 Player etc, we also have no other choice but to convert XWM to WAV, MP3, AAC, and more compatible audio format. In a word, we need a XWM Converter!
Below will introduce a powerful XWM Converter as well as a step by step guide on how to extract and convert XWM music from the.bsa in Skyrim to WAV, MP3, AAC, WMA, FLAC, AU, OGG, AC3, AIFF, RA etc. It also applies to convert to XWM from various audio formats.
Free download the ideal XWM Converter - iDealshare VideoGo ( for Windows, for Mac ), install and launch it, the following main screenshot will pop up.
Click the "Add files" button to add the XWM files which you like to convert to WAV, MP3 etc.
Tips:
If you do not know how to extract XWM from the.bsa in Skyrim, please download BSA Unpacker and point it at Skyrim - Voices.bsa in the Skryim\data folder to extract .xwm audio files.
Click the "Profile" drop-down button to desired audio format as output profile from the "General Audio" category or the "Lossless Audio" category.
Click the "Convert" button to finish converting XWM to MP3, or converting XWM to WAV, M4A, FLAC, WMA, AAC, AC3, RA, OGG, AU, APE, DTS, AIFF and etc.
The .xwm file extension is used for audio files that contain music for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim computer game, created by Bethesda and released in November 2011.These XWM files are located within Skyrim - Sounds.bsa archive. This archive can be extracted with various BSA tools.
